Risk & Safety
Deterministic Risk Engine, news protection, kill switch, and fail-closed defaults.
The Risk & Safety Engine is deterministic. Generative AI cannot override sizing, limits, news blocks, kill switch, or final recheck. Martingale / recovery doubling style behaviors are forced off by product policy.
Risk settings to review first
- Per-trade risk and minimum R:R threshold
- Daily / weekly loss and trade-count limits
- Cooldown and portfolio / concurrent exposure caps
- News protection windows and fail-closed behavior
- Kill switch state (keep ON until you understand the panel)
- Execution mode (Advisory recommended for first sessions)
News & Macro setup
- MT5: enable WebRequest allow-list domains listed in MT5 Setup; calendar safety uses the terminal calendar when available.
- cTrader: calendar provider is not bound — protection ON fails closed without data.
- Headlines are informational; calendar/news safety gates decide blocks.
Execution validation
Before any order path, GoldMind re-checks decision validity, risk, news, data quality, and terminal permissions (Algo Trading / account expert allowance). If anything fails, the path stops.
