Using GoldMind
Normal vs Scalping, Advisory / Assisted / Auto, symbols, AI Gateway, journal, and daily workflow.
Reading BUY / SELL / WAIT
GoldMind produces a structured decision after multi-timeframe analysis, Strategy Brain selection, and risk validation. WAIT means confluence, regime, news, or risk gates are not met — treat it as a first-class outcome, not an error.
Normal vs Scalping
- Normal — standard decision style for broader setups and holding context.
- Scalping — separate style lane optimized for shorter-horizon behavior.
- Each style can have its own Auto arming controls. Scalping remains under validation discipline in current builds — do not assume equal readiness across symbols.
Advisory / Assisted / Auto

On MT5, DEMO Auto requires explicit lane arming. REAL remains locked by default. On cTrader, execution stays DEMO-guarded; REAL is not offered.
Entry / SL / TP and R:R
When a setup is presented, GoldMind can show planned Entry, Stop Loss, Take Profit, lot, and risk/reward. Orders still pass deterministic risk validation and a final recheck immediately before broker I/O.
ROBOT position management
Positions opened by GoldMind (ROBOT) can follow a managed lifecycle such as HOLD / PROTECT / SCALE / EXIT. Manually opened positions are not managed by GoldMind’s ROBOT lifecycle.
Supported symbols
Canonical profiles include Tier 1 (XAUUSD, EURUSD, USDJPY, GBPUSD), Tier 2 (AUDUSD, USDCAD, USDCHF), Tier 3 (EURJPY, GBPJPY, EURGBP, BTCUSD), plus retained extras (XAGUSD, NZDUSD). Unmapped custom symbols remain fail-closed until configured. Architecture support is not the same as validated public performance.
AI Gateway (optional)
- Start the local AI Gateway (start_gateway script) so it listens on http://127.0.0.1:8765.
- In GoldMind Settings → AI Gateway, choose a supported provider (OpenAI, OpenRouter, DeepSeek, or compatible endpoint).
- Store the provider API key in the Gateway / OS credential store — not in public website forms.
- Save settings and run Test Connection.
- Use AI for TRADE_ANALYSIS, WHY_SIGNAL, NEWS_ANALYSIS, tutor, and review tasks. AI cannot authorize execution.
Without the Gateway, deterministic engines continue; AI explanations simply show as unavailable.
History / Journal
The History / Journal surfaces completed GoldMind Assisted and Auto trades and decision context for review. Journal records support learning and fingerprinting — they are not a promise of future results.
Restart & recovery
On restart, Auto/session authorization returns to OFF. Durable intent tracking reduces duplicate submission risk when broker results were uncertain. Re-arm Auto only after you intentionally review conditions.
