Strategies, Patterns & Indicators
How evidence becomes a decision — market structure, the verified candlestick pattern library, indicators, confirmation, and what is still development work.
GoldMineBot does not trade an indicator crossing. Each decision cycle collects evidence across the H4 → H1 → M15 → M5 hierarchy, classifies the market regime, and lets Strategy Brain choose the strategy family that fits. Everything on this page is evidence that feeds a score — none of it is a signal on its own, and none of it can bypass the Risk & Safety engine.
How a decision is built
- Market data is read across the four analysis timeframes.
- Structure, trend, momentum, volatility, liquidity, session and candlestick evidence are collected on confirmed bars.
- The market regime is classified — trend, range, compression, breakout, high volatility or shock.
- Strategy Brain selects the strategy family that fits that regime, microstate and symbol profile.
- A setup is scored and must clear the valid threshold plus the minimum risk/reward at its first target.
- The independent Risk & Safety engine authorizes or blocks the result. Only then does any execution path continue.
Market structure and trend
- Swing highs and lows are detected and tracked as the structural skeleton of the move.
- Break of Structure (BOS) marks a confirmed break beyond the prior swing in the direction of the prevailing structure.
- Change of Character (CHoCH) marks a counter-structural break that may mean the prevailing bias is weakening.
- Support, resistance and session ranges are mapped as the levels price is actually reacting to.
- Liquidity sweeps identify where resting liquidity was taken before price reversed or continued — the difference between a genuine break and a stop run.
- Breakout and retest context records whether a break held its retest or already failed.
Candlestick pattern library
Patterns are detected on confirmed, closed bars only — a shape forming inside the current candle is not yet evidence. Each detection carries its direction and the number of candles it spans. This is the complete library GoldMineBot detects; we do not publish a padded pattern count.
| Pattern | Bars | Direction | What it indicates |
|---|---|---|---|
| Bullish Engulfing | 2 | Bullish | The body strictly engulfs the prior body — buyers took over the previous bar |
| Bearish Engulfing | 2 | Bearish | The body strictly engulfs the prior body — sellers took over |
| Bullish Harami | 2 | Bullish | An inside bar after selling — downside momentum is stalling |
| Bearish Harami | 2 | Bearish | An inside bar after buying — upside momentum is stalling |
| Three White Soldiers | 3 | Bullish | Three successive bullish bodies — sustained buying pressure |
| Three Black Crows | 3 | Bearish | Three successive bearish bodies — sustained selling pressure |
| Morning Star | 3 | Bullish | A reversal sequence through an indecisive middle bar |
| Evening Star | 3 | Bearish | A reversal sequence through an indecisive middle bar |
| Marubozu | 1 | Direction of body | Full body with near-zero wicks on a bar with real range — one side held control throughout |
| Hammer | 1 | Bullish | Long lower wick after a decline — the low was rejected |
| Hanging Man | 1 | Bearish | The same shape after an advance — the prior move decides the reading |
| Shooting Star | 1 | Bearish | Long upper wick after an advance — the high was rejected |
| Inverted Hammer | 1 | Bullish | The same shape after a decline |
| Tweezer Top | 2 | Bearish | Two bars sharing a matched high — a level defended twice |
| Tweezer Bottom | 2 | Bullish | Two bars sharing a matched low — a level defended twice |
| Doji | 1 | Neutral | Open and close at effectively the same price — indecision, recorded as non-directional |
| Strong Rejection | 1 | Bullish or bearish | A wick dominating the bar range in one direction, where no named pattern applies |
Why a pattern alone is never an entry
- The same pattern carries different weight in different regimes. A textbook engulfing candle inside a compression range is weak evidence.
- Pattern evidence is one weighted contributor to the setup score, alongside structure, trend, momentum, liquidity and session.
- Confirmation matters because an unconfirmed shape can un-form before the bar closes. GoldMineBot requires a confirmed closed-bar trigger.
- A pattern says who won one bar. It does not say what happens next, and no pattern carries a probability guarantee.
- Shape-based pairs share a single geometry — Hammer and Hanging Man are the same candle, and only the prior move separates them.
Indicators as evidence, not as signals
Indicators contribute measured context — momentum quality, volatility state and trend strength — to the evidence set. They are deliberately separated from the chart drawing layer: turning a chart layer off changes what is drawn, never what the engine computes.
- Chart layers you control: market structure, support and resistance, liquidity, candlestick patterns, sessions, Entry/SL/TP, ROBOT marks and the trend indicator.
- Chart Mode presets apply a whole layer set at once — Simple, Standard, Advanced, News Trading, Clean Chart or Custom.
- Chart tool preset selects Recommended or Advanced tooling density.
- Engine evidence runs regardless of which layers are visible, and regardless of whether the panel is open.
Advanced structure concepts and their real status
Some concepts traders expect from a modern product are still being built. They are listed here so you know exactly which ones are working for you today and which are future work.
| Concept | Status |
|---|---|
| Break of Structure (BOS) | Available — read as structure evidence |
| Change of Character (CHoCH) | Available — read as structure evidence |
| Liquidity sweeps | Available — read as liquidity evidence |
| Breakout and retest context | Available — read as setup evidence |
| Order blocks | Planned — see the roadmap |
| Fair value gaps | Planned — see the roadmap |
| Supply and demand zones | Planned — see the roadmap |
| Smart-money zone confirmation | Being evaluated — see the roadmap |
Signal confirmation and BUY / SELL / WAIT
- BUY or SELL means the evidence cleared the score and risk/reward gates and Risk & Safety authorized the path.
- WAIT means at least one of confluence, regime, news, data quality or risk did not clear. It is a complete, valid outcome.
- A blocked decision shows the gate that blocked it, so you can tell a weak setup from a safety block.
- Scalping is a separate style lane with its own confirmation discipline — it does not inherit Normal-style readiness.
